🧭 How to find your way around the area
The Iguazu area may seem complex because it involves three countries, but the geography is quite simple:
Puerto Iguazú is at the tip of a tongue of land. To the east is Brazil, to the north is Paraguay. The Iguazú River flows south and empties into the Paraná right at the Hito Tres Fronteras.
The Argentine National Park is southeast of Puerto Iguazú, on the river. The falls are at the point where the Iguazú River falls from the Misiones plateau into the Paraná River.
The Brazilian side is right in front of the Argentinean, on the other side of the river. It can be reached by crossing the international bridge (2.5 km from downtown Puerto Iguazú).
